MERCEDES (KFXV) -- A 73 year old man is behind bars after police say he attempted to shoot his neighbor.
He remains behind bars tonight at the Hidalgo County jail and could face life in prison.
A Fox 2 news reporter spoke to the man that Julian Troncoso tried to shoot. He tell me the 73 year old pointed a shotgun at his chest and pulled the trigger.
This is video given exclusively to Fox 2 News by a neighbor, the moment Julian Idelfonso Troncoso was arrested.
According to authorities, Troncoso asked Mejia to move a truck from his property Monday morning.
Mejia told Troncoso he would move it as soon as he was done unloading some wood..
That's when Troncoso went inside came back out with a gun and tried to shoot him. Luckily the gun did not fire.
Darrel Conde was there when Trancoso was arrested. He tells Fox 2 News, he still can believe what happened.
Troncoso's bond was set at $500,000 and he could face from 5 years to life in prison.
Mejia tells me he plans to relocate his family within the next few weeks due to safety concerns.
He also say he thanks God for allowing him to live another day.
